My second interview with...

Brett Booth so let begin with 8 questions:

Medster/Horokyu: What was your reaction when DC chose you and Scott to do TT NEW 52?

Brett Booth: Honestly? There wasn't a new 52 at that point. Scott and I were
supposed to take over with issue 101. In fact Scott turned in a plot
for it! But on to the question at hand! When Eddie first asked me I was a bit
disappointed. I'd heard about a Speedforce book and had been trying to
get on that.
Then I looked at the sales for TT and was even more
disappointed, they were selling around 24,000 were the JLA I was on
was doing 55,000. But Eddie explained that they wanted to try and get
TT back to a flagship property and I do like a challenge.
Then they told me Scott was writing it and he always gives me fun stuff to draw
so I started getting more and more excited. I was just about to start
issue 101 when I was told to STOP! Thats when DC decided to do the new
52 thing and TT got a revamp.

M/H: Which character took more time to decide which costume he'll/she'll have. And did you ask some help or did you take references for design the costume?

BB: Originally Jim Lee was going to do all the design work, but they asked
me to help out so I did up a bunch of sketches and sent them off. He
sent Bart back (which I loved) and a few Cassie's back (which were
cool but not what I thought of when I saw the character.)
Cassie was the hardest, Jim did designs, I did designs and Cully Hamner did some
as well. I think one of the Editors did one too. Scott hated them
all!!! LOL! So we decided to not go with a costume at first. But a
week later Scott wanted me to do a quick image for a big meeting so he
actually drew up the red unitard she wears and I put on the armor I
designed and off we went.

M/H: Which character have the most complicated costume to memorize?

BB: Skitter (and I will always prefer Bugg!) She wasn't in it for a few
issues and I still don't have her memorized yet.

M/H: If you take a "team book break" (we already know that you're going to take
one) who will you want to pencil between NightWing, Wonder Woman, Booster
Gold, Superboy, Power Girl (If DC relaunch her solo series) and Red Hood(I
know they're a team but they're only three member) if you and Kenneth
exchange places, and why?

BB: Oohhh, That's a tough question... I've done Superboy, so I can rule
him out (I do love the series!) If I had to pick right now, it would
be Wonder Woman.
How can you pass up one of the big 3? Plus I'm a huge
mythology fan, and I love drawing monsters and ornate costumes. Sounds
like heaven:)

M/H: I saw the teen BackLash and read the tweets, some
people(including me) want him back with DC this time. Do you have any plan
for him now or for the incoming years?

BB: Scott and I had a plan, but that got shot down, I'm not sure if well
be using him in TT now. I do have some ideas, but everything would
have to be approved by DC so nothing is certain.

M/H: Do you and Scott think about a new outfit for Bunker and Wonder Girl?

BB: Yes, Bunker will get some new duds in issue 11 as will Cassie, though
these will be more like additional armor and a change in the way we do
her leotard.

M/H: What is your favorite issue of TT you penciled now.

BB: The most fun was issue 5, a great all out brawl issue. But I think 10
might beat it, it has dinosaurs!

M/H: We know that you finished TT annual three weeks ago. Can you tell us how
many bad guy will be in we already know Harvest (who first appear in
SuperBoy 7, before the Culling) is in, can you tell us more about him, is
name origins  and the design you did for him(or someone else did it)?
BB: Oh, man, well Warblade, Center Hall, Templer, Omen, and a bunch of
other new ones along with some people who are turned bad for a bit.
It's an insane issue, new characters, old characters and lava!

M/H: Thanks for the time you take to answer to those question, do you have
anything else you wanna say and do you have tips for people who want  to
draw like you?

BB: Practice, practice, practice. Take as many figure drawing classes as
possible and some painting classes won't hurt either!

That's all for now folks see you next time for some new sketch or an other interview
                                                          Bye! Medster/Horokyu!
